CPU-NXT2 ram size that it's supposed to come with?

I purchased a second CPU-NXT2, for an upcoming conversion of my a BB1 machine.  When it arrived, I decided to test it to see if it's working.  Upon bootup, I quickly notice that the ram size is 1024MB on the bootup info screen.  I was pretty disappointed.   

Are all CPU-NXT2's supposed to come with 2 GB ram memory by default?   Or do some actually come with 1 GB ram as well?

Originally the BB2 CPU came with 1gb or RAM.  Newer ones came with 2gb of RAM.  So depends on it's age but the seller may have switched the RAM out.  The logic door on a 2gb RAM CPU will have a label indicating 2 gb of RAM if it was factory installed.

Thanks, Idesign.   I just realized the 1GB is not strong enough.   When loading the game,  it hangs at the connecting to game mgr.   Tried 3 different OS's (using the OS higher than it recommends on the game card).  Still hangs.   The bottom monitor always stays black.   

So I figured, I swap out the ram, and test it again with the 2 GB.   Everything loads up fine and the game works.   So I have a feeling 1 GB is not strong enough to drive 2 monitors??   Or is the game require more ram?  (tried ruby and slippers and rome and egypt)

What type of memory is used for the BB2 and can it be changed to higher than 2GB to help load larger games like Bier Haus and Lord of the Rings Two Towers?

I don't know if it can use one higher than 2 GB.  Don't have one on me to try it out.   I was able to buy a 2 GB I needed for $5 to replace my 1 GB

The type of memory it takes is a SODIMM  DDR2 with at least PC2-5300 speed.

2GB is max memory on a cpunxt2 mpu.  Those games will run correctly with 2GB of ram.
