Bally 869 fire dance
« on: December 20, 2021, 05:49:18 PM »
My newest project is an Bally 869 fire dance

I can’t seems to find any info about the machine, first it suppose to have a credit meter up in the top glass but it’s not there, I have an extra in my storage but I guess I need more to install it since there are no wires or anything that shows that it have been a credit meter there before?

Does the part in the back of the hopper has anything to do with the missing credit meter in the top unit..

This game have Danish glass but does this game come with US glass too ?

according to the bally numerical model list, the 869 was made for siesbye ... which I think is bally denmark.

the schematic drawing number would be w-1046-957.

what does the key above the handle do ... is it just a glass lock or is there a switch behind it?  Is there any hint that buttons used to be on the side of the cabinet?

I'd guess the thing on the back of the hopper is not a bally part and is converting the game to coin-only pay.

is there a score motor on the hopper or in the top compartment?  In coin-only mode, you wouldn't need a score motor for a non-multiplier game.

a replay register needs wire 70, a couple wires for the step-up/down coils and most commonly 5 wires for zero/non-zero switches (2 switches ... one SPST and one SPDT).

Yes that sounds right since the glass are danish :)

The key on the side is glass lock only and there are non parts up in the feature unit so I guess it’s not worth starting that project since I guess it’s to much work.. and there are no marks or buttons on the side either so I guess it’s machine was never meant to have the score meter but only coin payout.

Except that everything seems to work pretty good except I can’t get the insert coin light to work, and since the reel unit looks little different I’m not sure where to look… see picture

no coin relay ... at least not in the usual spot.

if there isn't a coin relay someplace, does the coin switch directly trip the handle release relay?  If yes, the likely place for controlling the insert coin light would be a switch on the handle release.

if there is a coin accepted light, find what is controlling that.  An SPDT switch was common on single coin games ... center blade connected to yellow wire 30 and surrounding blades go to insert coin and coin accepted lamps.

I love seeing the vast variety of games that existed back on the early Bally days.  Get her going and send us a video link please.

I finally found out about the problem with the insert coin light 💡 it was bad contact in the beau plug in the top unit and after cleaning it’s finally working good again :)

The Coin relay is in the top unit for a change, that’s not very common I guess?

Here’s a little video of the fire dance

Have anyone seen any Bally machine that looks like Bally fire dance except it has cowboy theme and have the drawer below like fire dance. Slim model and I’m not thinking of quick draw :)

Thanks :)

918 was the swedish version of mustang ... it may have had the base section on the cabinet.

Im sure it wasn’t mustang or quick draw, but it could be a aftermarket danish model or something :)

take a look at the bally 1900 manual (https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/bally_manuals/)

the swedish games operate on kronor and tokens.  Kronor go to the cash box in the bottom compartment, tokens go into the hopper.

the game could be configured for two plays per kronor - it used the replay register for that.  All wins went to the replay register and a collect button could be pushed to cash out the credits with tokens from the hopper.

fire dance is a danish game, so see the 2200 manual.  It also recorded all wins on the register and you could just pull the handle to play them off.  There was also a collect button.
