Alpha m9000 dim display

Just bought an Alpha m9000 and brightness on the lcd monitor needs improvement   I have brightness turned all the way up and it is still fairly dim. Any suggestions on fixing this.  Would recapping the monitor fix the problem.

It's probably your inverter, I would try that first.  Though sometimes the CFL light just gets old and needs to be replaced too.  Do you have another m9000 monitor you can swap the inverter for to test?

Rick. I was thinking that too but I no monitor to swap inverters.  How hard is it to change out the cfl in these. Ted

All LCD monitors are about the same, just got to be careful removing them from their metal frame.  The hard part most of the time is finding the right CFL lamp.  I have not personally replaced the CFL on the bally monitors, but have done numerous times with all different kinds of laptop LCD's.
