S+ has minimal sounds - Normal?

My S+ circa 1993 plays a sound when I put a quarter in. But that is the only sound it makes.


Inside is a bell but it has never rung.


Is this normal behavior for my machine?

put the first four dip switches located on the cpu board to the on position.  this will produce the sounds.

The bell sound is something that is user selectable.  First make sure it is connected, then there's a setting that tells the machine to ring bell on only Big Jackpots or any pay.

Actually I used a test mode 2-1 and got several more sounds. But now I'm getting what sounds like a relay closing as each reel stops spinning. Can I turn JUST THAT clicking sound off?

you must have a 1271 SP chip,  try setting 2_0 and see what you get!

Jim I get that same sound on my double diamond s +... Could you explain the setting you mentioned? 2_0 ?
