New Project Bally E1000 Series Shorty machine
« on: October 19, 2021, 09:39:14 AM »
While I am waiting on parts and/or service on my 2 others I picked up some new projects or a lot of parts. One of the items I got is this E1000 Series (no plate on side so not quite sure exactly what model it is)  I am judging that it is a 1000 series because of the hopper board and the main board. It seems to be the baby brother to my other machine.

Can anyone tell me what this machine is called without a marquee and with a bent arm?

Initial problems:
3 relays that energize to stop the reels are staying energized, lots of bad noise like this.
Can't hit reset on hopper because as soon as I turn on the machine, 5v hopper fuse blows.

Any ideas where to start would be appreciated. I saw a thread either here or on the old site one time concerning testing the hopper board, will try to find it again.
Included a pic of the 4 I picked up.

On my e machine, 2407-2, I found that the keyswitch on right side of the machine was defect resulting in energizing reelcoils and not energizing coinlockoutcoil and coindeflectorcoil on switching machine on.
May good to look into this switch and correct wiring. Repaired it gave the opposite result

Thanks,  I checked the switch, it checks out great  But after looking around a bit I saw a resistor or two that were burned up on the i/o board, and after testing the other resisters  I found several others that had erratic readings or nothing at all.

Because I am not a electronics tech, I will probably send this board out for testing as well as the main board seeing as I wont be able to do anything with it till it gets back anyway. if it was only one or two resistors I would normally replace them myself but with this many I need a pro to look at it, I could be misreading what I have.
