C is common tab
NC is normally closed tab
NO is normally open

So with the switch in the default position- door open - C is shorted to NC
With the door closed - C is shorted to NO

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Schematic below says -

ORange/YEllow wire is on NC
BK (black) is on C (common)

As you may or may not tell - the other switches near the bottom door switch must be wired correct also. If you need more help - PM me.

Good luck.

I checked the switch operation and it is ok. The black wire is on the common the orange and yellow on the nc terminal. I do a complete clear and get a 50 door open, push in the door switch and watching the amber coin optics led it will start flashing after hearing a ping sound from the power supply.
If I pull the switch out as if the door is closed, do a clear I have normal operation. Also I have two wires that where rolled up and not connected to anything. Alan who checked the board thought they where used  for something in a casino. I will post a picture of them.

I'm out of stuff to say. I'd have to be there to see what to do next. I would actually start from square one. But that isn't going to happen.  Maybe someone with years of experience on S5500 can help you out.  Good luck.

Here is what Tom done to get his machine working.
I got the Bally s5500 working, I had mentioned in one of my posts about two wires coiled up by the power supply. one white with a black tracer and a double black. The wires I think went to one of the validator switches. So for the heck of it I pulled off the connectors on the validator and it now works perfectly. It will pay out when the cash out button is used, no coin drop thru, and I can turn it off and restart and play. Thank you for all the advise and offer to check parts for me. Tom Bera
