Mills Diamond Front Denomination Button
« on: April 05, 2015, 05:28:45 AM »
I noticed on several machines including mine that the denomination button (next to the coin slot) is split and the coin hole part is cast into the machine. Other machines have a complete oblong denomination plate that covers the hole and includes the denomination. I was just wondering if this is a sign of what age it is or if anyone knew why there is two different styles?
In the end the one with the most toys wins!

Post a few pictures. There are several "clones" made during the '70s and '80s using partial or minimal Mills hardware. I believe the coin tray distinguishes the clones from the original machines.

Attached are a few pics of what it looked like when I bought it and what it looks like now. As you can see the denomination button is aftermarket but it didn't have anything before.

Were those denomination buttons removable because they could use the basic machine for nickels, dimes, etc, just replace some coin handling parts?

Just changing out the Denomination label has nothing to do with the player denomination?
If it takes nickels, it won't take Quarter because the Coin hole is still the size of a nickel.
You have to change the top mec. and the Coin escalator etc.
hope this helps.
