I don't think it's a monitor issue.. I would think that you have some bad capacitors on the monitors power supply..

It could be a problem with the yoke or the coil in the neck of your CRT.. I've seen them go bad, and when they did you didn't have a full screen. I was able to repair the problems sometime by just soldering a broken coil wire or adding a short jumper wire.

More them likely yes, if you have the same results with a different monitors power supply.. Might be a good time to convert to a LED flat panel monitor. I did my 19" Game King last year and I love it.. I bought a complete drop in unit, then just had to replace the front bezel.

Get rid of the CRT.....
You will be happy you did!
1. Runs cooler
2. Pulls a lot less power
3. Much better graphics

Now if you find the graphics look kinda shitty, you MIGHT have to update a chip on the 3902
board to run correctly with some of the new LCD monitors. Some need it, some dont.....
Look for darker vertical lines, dull or grainy colors.
I have the part number for this little EPROM at work.

Looks like the horiz output is bad, but that can be caused by a number of things. Some places have a flat rate repair if you want to get it fixed.

I was thinking along the same lines. You might check the voltage at the collector of the horizontal out put transistor, should be 130. If not, check for a short between the collector and each of the 2 ouside legs. If it's shorted, replace it, they are cheap. If it's not shorted and the 130v is there then you may have one of the other problems mentioned or cap issues. Put the LCD in anyway, but swap it back to the CRT, if you can fix it, when you sell it

Usually not the Horizontal output. Remember..you need that to get high voltage and if the tube shows anything it has high voltage.
Check the voltages first, the 130 volt line, the CRT anode voltage....
USE A ISOLATION TRANSFORMER if you run this outside of the cabinet!   <---read that line again.
Look for leaky/bulged/discolored caps.
Get the schematic for it, see if it has test points.
But I still stand on the idea of dumping the CRT.....you will be much better off.
