Having trouble changing denomination in an S2000 machine with S+ game chip

I have an S2000 cabinet with an S+ game chip installed.
I have attempted to change the denomination from $1 to 25 cents
Did a clear and key using a 224 clear and 45 key chips in the SB001000 socket and it wouldn't take...
Game plays and runs perfectly set at $1 but is off when set to 25 cents...
What am I missing here?

That means you didn't change it from a dollar to a quarter.

Slide out MPU, install Clear chip, install MPU, power ON machine, erase everything, power OFF.
Slide out MPU, install Keychip, power ON, watch for 2 amber Leds, power OFF again.
Slide out MPU, install SB chip, power ON, and set denomination to a quarter, set machine cabinet as "upright", enable bill acceptor & printer, exit.
Close door, wait for bill bezel light to come on, insert money, and play game.

Thanks for the input. I am very well aware of how to clear, key and set the denomination on an S2000 and I have done it successfully many times, but this time it won't take. That's why I brought it up...wasn't sure if it has something to do with running an S+ game on an S2000 machine...

I don't know.
I'm thinking maybe it's the SG598's causing that?
I always thought those SG chips were used for enhanced 1270 MPU's, and SBxxx games that use double-row button decks?
I could be wrong.
I would just use SG363's when using 50x MPU's & S+ chips?

I also just use Keychip31 when messing around with 502/504 MPU's.
I suppose you could use Key45's (because you're using SG598's) but then again, only with 1270 MPU's??

No matter what game software you stick in, whenever you do a full Clear, your machine always needs to have the denomination set, it also needs to know if it's a slant sit-down cabinet or an upright cabinet, and is a good time to enable & set the Netplex deivices such as the printer and bill acceptor.
So I don't know why you can't change the denom to whatever you want?
You need someone else to jump in here....I have a mancold and a headache now.... :rotfl:
Tilt will know more...or RB the chip man.

yeah...lemmie know if those one's help allow you to set your denom.

That's why you gotta give us all the info man, history and whatnot...
We don't know if you have a multi denom touchpad or two-row button decks, sit-down machine, enhanced MPU's etc,etc.
Or else we'll be here for 48 Replies and two weeks trying to fix a simple thing ...haha

After you run the clear and the key is the machine asking you to choose between an upright or a slant machine?

I always set accounting denomination to .01 but if I remember correctly that wasn't an option...I'm pretty sure the only option it gave me was the game denomination which I set at .25
I thought that was strange too...

There is NO SUCH THING as a "game denomination".

You have up to three denominations to set if you have Version VS011GX1:

Accounting
Coin
Player

Thanks for your help but as I've already explained, I've done this dozens of times and  yes I miswrote game denomination for coin denomination...To be clear...when I got to the denomination settings, accounting denomination didn't exist and I set COIN denomination to 25 cents...
I know how to set up an S2000 machine but this one is acting squirrly...just looking to see if there was some type of conflict with the board/ software combination I have...

Only multi denom version chips, VS011GX1 or equivalent have these three settings.

Accounting
Coin
Player

Single denom version chips do not.

You definitely want to change that to VS011GX0 or GX1 with upgraded SG chips.
