Changing 17 inch chop top Gameking back to IGame
« on: October 18, 2015, 12:11:04 PM »
Hi all, I have a 17 inch chop top converted GameKing in an IGame cabinet that I want to put to it's Dragon's Gold IGame.  This my first attempt at a game swap so I may be way off.  It is not the original software as it was already a Game King when I got it.  The monitor is giving me nothing but graphic soup.  Any recommendations or thoughts?

For starters, make sure all of the EPROM legs are seated correctly and that all chips are in the correct sockets and that none are backwards or have broken legs.

Thanks,
Jason

Appears you have a chip installed backwards.  Line up the notch on the chip in the direction shown on the board

:agreepost:   Looks like all three are in backwards, Base and both GMEs.  Remove and re-install them the correct way and hopefully you'll be good to go.

So in  other words, I should use the actual physical chip rather than how the stickers were applied.... :duh:

But hey, at least I was consistent!  Thank you all so much, lesson learned.

Chips have changed direction and all works as expected.

I have the label problem with some of my games, draw an arrow pointing to the notch so you don't make the same mistake again
