Author Topic: IGT AVP with Game King 8.3 Question (Read 7999 times)

I am a relative noob to the video gaming machines and just recently purchased a IGT AVP machine. Its a G23 cabinet with a 625 brainbox and has Game king 8.3 installed right now. (GAME014-001NW3-D11) . I also have an ekey 7. What I don't have are the GK installer software, nor do I see a license dongle.

1. Can I load other slot games along side the GK software?
2. If I cannot, and I have to wipe and load other games how do I get the 8.3 software back?
3. Does every game have a loader software and a license dongle? (I see the "one piece of the puzzle" comments but mine does not have a dongle)
4. Is there any recommendations on maximizing the potential of this awesome machine?

Thanks in advance and be gentle if my questions or info seems ignorant, because frankly I am when it comes to this machine.

All games have a loader and corresponding license dongle. If you don't have the gk8.3 loader, there's no way to reload the software. It is easy enough to just get a sandisk SSD and replace the current drive with it. Initialize the ssd and install a fresh os (you need an OS installer for that as well).

You can load slot games into it, I have done it with gameking 8.2.

I'm curiuos, what os version is in your machine? You can see what you have by turning the jackpot reset key and selecting Version==>Packages==>System. I am interested in the AVPxxx, QNXxxx, ConfigXXX

Also if you don't already have a Diagnostic USB key, I suggest you get one as well.

Thanks for the info! I figured as much. So just so Iâ€™m clear (and donâ€™t waste money to buy games), I can load other games along side of the GK 8.3?

When you say you need an OS installer, is that something I can find (buy, download,etc)

Any idea where I can get a USB diagnostic key?

Yes OS installers are usually sold on a USB flash drive, same way Game installer come.

You can post a WTB for an OS installer. Looks like your OS installer should be AIO14-B0C.

Being 8.3 and B series OS I would assume it is ASB014 bootchips correct?
So how is it that you dont have a license dongle in it yet there is no game not licensed error

Could it be, um, uh, well... you know........... Man that would be nice if "those" were available in the ASB014 version of bootchips

Really curious about the bootchips and if for CERTAIN there isn't a license dongle hiding in there somewhere. Good luck on your diag020 or 021 quest.

No license dongle for sure. Was also able to load about 12 more reel games along side GK 8.3 without any issues. The boot chips I have are AVPSBO14B3004 and AVPSB01410E05. I was kinda shocked that they didnâ€™t match, but Iâ€™m definitely not complaining. Was also able to get a 21 key thanks to one of the generous members on here and able to clear my error.

Well sir, hang on to those bootchips! I would mark them to make sure you dont confuse them later. A lot of the new games being developed for 3.0 required a AI014-BXX minimum OS.
Can you load the diag 21 and go to version information and tab over to bootchips and see what they are reading as?

Iâ€™m out of town for the holidays, but I will as soon as I get back. Bought this machine for my wife for Christmas and I think I found a unicorn. I know those stickers are not always what they are, so Iâ€™ll check for sure.

Yep, that's them. Looks like you got lucky, version 13 show chips must work with B series OS. Hang on to them.

Now that makes me curious

Side note:I know these "show" chips are not a secret anymore so I'm curious of how many versions are out there (i.e SHOW014-12, SHOW014-13 etc? And what functionality differences the different version have.

More than a couple years Barry. I have been using them at trade shows for many years. The question at hand is how many versions of said show chips are out there. He has A series OS dependent games and B series OS dependent games living together.
