Series 20 games
« on: December 12, 2018, 03:09:19 PM »
Right now I have the 14 series bios and OS, but was wondering what it takes to run series 20 games.  I know you need the series 20 OS, but I can't seem to find much info on series 20 boot programs.  I've come across a drive labeled IBRF300USDM09. Anyone want to enlighten me?

Thanks!

Michael,

Series 20 or family 020 is "Ascent" platform so quite a bit changes from AVP family 014.  Ascent was designed for the 4.0 equipment and new cabinet rollout of Crystal products, S3000's and later adapted to some GTech products. It was made partially backwards compatible to machines that were on AVP platform with 3.0M brainboxes that could be upgraded to 3.0ME (most commonly G23 or Universal Slants but also include some G20V2'S and 20" Bartops.)

You will need:
* 3.0ME brainbox ( i.e. 660- 4 GB memory, SSD, E4690 Dual DVI video card)
* DIAGUNV00104 diagnostic utility or higher (blue Kangaroo drive)
* IBRF300USDM07 or higher boot chips 1 and 2
* OI020- Operation system (i.e OI0200000302 or higher)
* AI020- Ascent Foundation ( i.e AI020000C0006 or higher)
* GI020- Game program ( i.e GI020002NI3B001)
* Trusty Ekey 7
* GI020 compatible license dongle
* Patience

Your IBRF thumb drive is a bios update, unlike AVP bootchips the Ascent bootchips for 3.0 can be flashed through the Diagnostic utility. Meaning if you had M07 bootchips you could update to M09 with that thumb drive but they have to be Ascent IBFR chips. You can't flash the AVPSB014 chips through the utility.

Or you could do:
* 4.0ME brainbox
* Diagnostic like above
* APR0000001 bios chip
* IBRF400xxxxxx bios program (dependent on processor type (Intel, AMD)
* OI like above
* AI like above
* GI like above
* Trusty Ekey 7 like above
* GI020 compatible license dongle like above.
* Patience like above.

Hope this helps

Buzzarama, your inbox is full and I can not write you.

My friend is missing the triple double diamond foundation core framework ascent file. He think it is called 20000C0007, but not 100% sure. Are you able to help?
