I had a gaming company guy remove the varta battery and u16. He had found that the varta battery was loose and not soldered on correctly before he removed it  and I believe he just unsoldered the u16 and the chip is still sitting in its place on the board. Is that ok?

If the U16 was un-soldered it wouldn’t be attached. It needs to be removed.

I pulled it out the u16 with a small needle nose just now. The machine is still flashing the netplex error really faintly. I have another s2000 machine over at my mom n dads, could i take the mpu out of that machine and put it in mine and see if it starts up or is that not a option?

If the other machine has the same board you could, but if it’s a 504 or 502 board then no because the back plane/ mother boards different.

Yes, if they are the same. You will have to turn the key a few times and push the test button to make it boot for the different software.

It is the best thing to do. That way you would know without a doubt if your board is bad. ( what I've thought from the beginning) When you put the board back in the other machine it will not have any credits and you will have to go through the turn key press button reset.

How many times do I have to turn the key? And how do I know if I have to turn key and push button? is it when the alarm sounds off?

ok thanks. When I sent my mpu and power supply to that gaming company they said they couldn't get my mpu to boot up with my original power supply so they sold me a new power supply what worked with my mpu. supposedly. I'll give it a shot soon here

That's a 500 series board your board is a 1270 or what is called enhanced. You would have to change the back plane board also in order to try it.Too much work in my opinion to justify for a test. I would wait till you get your other stuff back. The power supplies are the same you could have tried that but who knew.
By the way you should also remove the Varta battery on that board. No other parts to take off on that one just the green Varta battery.

When I got my stuff back and when I booted it up my NETPLEX error was still there and my bill unit was flashing error lights. The bill unit never used to flash error lights before I sent the parts in

Sounds like you need to disconnect everything you can from printer, bill acceptor and maybe even your light ballast to see what happens. Then start putting them back one at a time till the problems found...
