IGT AVP will not accept TITO vouchers

 I have a G20 AVP here that for the life of me I cannot get it to accept vouchers.
TITO is installed and giving free credit play.  It prints vouchers and accepts bills with no issues.
Voucher In/Out is set for Serial SAS 1
Validation is System
Accept Vouchers is yes
Print Vouchers is yes.
I have tried vouchers that are accepted in another machine so they are not the issue.
I have swapped Bill validators with that machine but that did not help.
I tried swapping TITO boards with that machine but no luck.
All settings appear to be the same.
Is there an SJUR or anything on the AVP’s that might disable the machine from accepting vouchers?

Hi: Don't know if this will help you but I have two G20's with tito's and I have to put my tickets upside down in order for it to accept them.

Hey Dale, yes that was it, thank you!


Since the heads are upside down in the G20's I wonder if there is an option to select which way they accept bills in the head programming itself?

Are you selecting the correct com port?  The com port depends on which slot your serial card is connected to.

Yes everything works, as Dale pointed out the vouchers work when inserted upside down.

What validator do you have?  I have MEI (6612U upstascker) on my G23 and it works face up.  On my G20,  I have the SU model (stack up).  If you have an SS, that is probably why.

To be honest I'm not sure, when I get back home I will take a look.


I know I have worked on G20's before and they always took TITO vouchers face up so I'm sure I just need to find the right model and/or one programmed correctly for the G20.

It's not a programming issue, it's a stacker type issue.  You need the "U" type stackers that stack bills up, otherwise the only way around it, is to insert the tickets upside down.

I have UBA 24's in both G20 machines and tickets on both machines have to be inserted upside down. I asked the tech at MGM Detroit and he said it was a software issue with the validator.

The tech may have given you wrong information.  I have both an SU stacker and an SS stacker, both flashed with the same firmware.  The SU stacker on the G20 allows me to put the ticket right side up, if I put the SS stacker, I have to put the ticket upside down.  It is a hardware issue as far as I know, unless there's a way to change the stacker from SS to SU internally, but I would think the sensors are also installed in the certain orientation that will only allow ticket acceptance on a specific side.  Supposedly UBA24's are all upstackers.  Does the model toward the back of the validator on the side of the interface connector say UBA24SU?
