Need help! Avp 2.5 diagnostic hangs up

I have a g22 that i managed to red screen with a game install.  My 14-21 diagnostic usb will not work.  It is verified working in my g20 3.0.  I have the main and bottom doors open.  Cage open,write enable jumper installed.  With or without an ekey7 plugged in the machine will not go past this avp screen.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are the OS's the same in both machines?  might need a 14-9 diagnostic instead?

thankfully I took this pic before I red screened it.  I will have to look at my g20, but I'm sure it has newer os than this.

Looks like your OS is AI014A09S. So you might need the 14-9 Diagnostic.

how do you deduce the os number from the numbers in my screenshot?  I  am a little green when it comes to the various os codes, etc.

i have that os in a file and by opening it up in the OS folder you can see the QNX version number. Somebody here on this website might have a list of them.

The title says AVP 2.5, so if it's not a 3.0 then the 14-21 Diagnostic may not work.  Also, the BIOS is an older version of the SHOW chips which I believe are not compatible with the 14-21 either, AVPSHOW014-13 is compatible. 


Lots of variables at play here.  I suggest you compare this screen shot with the same one in your other machine that does work with 14-21 Diagnostic.

Yes, it is a 2.5 cpu.  This is a screen shot of my g20 which does have the newer show chips.  Can the same showchip file for the 3.0 boot chips be used for 2.5 boots as well?  I have a folder marked 2.5 boots and another marked 3.0.  the boots I have in the 2.5 are the newest version I have from the 2.5 folder.

The other machine is using AI014-BOC OS.  I have no idea if the boots are compatible but you can just swap out the 14-13 BIOS and boot up to see.  No harm in doing that.

So I was able to get into diagnostics with a 14-09!  I have yet to try burning the boot chips with 3.0 show files, but I will try that next week and report back.  Is it possible to replace the os with a newer version without wiping the whole system? I would like to try a newer version of the os to see if some games that crass will play.
