AVP CPU Identification
« on: March 18, 2021, 10:04:47 AM »
Is there an easy way to determine if the CPU is a 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0?

The majority of the time there is a small round sticker on the front that says 3.0 and so on.

I'm sure there are other ways as well based on outside appearances such as types of video connectors used and external power supply connectors.

Mostly, I just look for the little round sticker.

Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I'm no expert in AVP stuff and have only ever dealt with the 3.0 machines.

I don’t see the round sticker but one machine has a two video cards on board and one has two video ports in an installed card.  Otherwise they look the same

They are both 3.0.  Pick 1 is a 660 and 2 looks like a 625.

See this post.   http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=16846.msg89831#msg89831
Also, the easiet way to tell a 3.0 from the other cpu's is look inside the security door on the front for the little write enable toggle switch, only 3.0 have the switch, tbe others have ports for wire jumpers to be installed.
