IGT GL20 AVP - Can You Clone the Drive?

Good Morning,


Have two IGT GL20's with Multi Game.  They were supposed to be identical with same games on both.  Unfortunately, they have different games on them.  Is it possible to clone the drive from the one with the games we want to another drive and then replace the drive in the second system with the cloned drive to have duplicate machines?  Trying to avoid having to have the second system go back to be reconfigured if possible.....

You can clone but you will still have to setup after you clear the errors you will get.  Cabinet mismatch, E2 error, etc.

Thanks for the reply.  Is it a safe assumption that I would need the ekey 7 in order to clear the errors then?  Is that all I would have to have?

Yes, you will end up with NO GAME ENABLED and will need to key it to enable and set games.

You would also probably need the diagnostic clear to clear nvram and cabinet ram.  I have found that sometimes swapping drives without doing this first can lead to issues, specially if both drives have different OS versions.

Thank you both for the additional information.  Rick, is the diagnostic clear the ekey 14, or something else?  I don't have the ekeys yet, so just want to make sure I get everything I need before jumping in with both feet.  I don't want to render the second machine inoperable while having to wait to obtain additional tools or components.  I also want to install TITO in both and have obtained the RS232 Daughter Cards that the TITO boards need to connect to.

No the diagnostic is a usb flash drive with software on it.  You need an ekey 7 (or equivalent) to boot the machine with the diagnostic usb drive to get to run the diagnostic program and clear nvram and cabinet ram.
