G23 Diagnostic

I am trying to  run the diagnostic on my g23 I insert the diag usb and the ekey7 and boot, it come up please enable the hard drive write jumper?  I havent  gotten that message before.  Any idea or is it so simple I am missing it.

Flip the little silver switch next to the usb ports.

Ok I flip the switch leave the diag and ekey in machine.  I boot it comes up and says installer launched, preparing hard drive, hard drive detected attempts to install.  I comes back and says remove drive in usb 1 and reboot.  It never gets to the diag.

You don't have the diagnostic key then, something else is on the USB.  Looks like it is trying to install an OS or a game based on the messages you are describing.

I will double check the diag,  it is the one I have been using unless it somehow got erased.  Do you know what file is suppose to be on the diag,  I have never looked at it.

if it has an igt_full_install.zip file, then it is not an diagnostic key.  Beware though, if you insert a diagnostic usb into a pc, stuff will get written to it and it will fail validation next time you use it.  There are several threads on this, just do search for it on how to clear the stuff out of it before you use it.  A diagnostic USB drive has 2 directories "avp" and "etc" and a file called Diagnostic.certificate.
