G20 Comm Board Issue

I'm trying to install a TiTo on a G20 Round Top and am having no luck.  I have tested TiTo/rs232 board/harness in a working SMLD unit, but cannot get any activity on the comm board on the G20.  Backplane issue possibly?  I'm at a loss here, each item works fine separately in the "good" unit, just no activity on the "bad" unit.  I'd had it working at one point, but needed the setup in the SMLD.  Now that I have another TiTo, even the original setup is non-operational.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Try replacing your rs232 board on the backplane

I've tried three different rs232 boards, two of which were functional in the other unit.  (I didn't try the third in the other unit.)  I'll end up grabbing another board or two to test as well.

Settings are your comm board plug number (1-4), address 1 and system validation.

I am getting a validation error.  Normally upon power up, the green receive light on the board will blink with what appears to be a heartbeat signal from the TiTo.  I'm not getting any activity from the TiTo.  Have tried all four ports on the backplane.

Address is always 1 no matter what port you are using.  Always system validation.  Is your wiring OK on this.  Is protocol turned on??  Bad tito???

Placing the entire setup, rs232/harness/TiTo, into another machine works properly.  For the settings, comm port is correct, address is 1, system validation correct, and protocol is on.  This current setup had been working on the machine previously, although it may have been a different rs232 card.

Thank you, appreciate the suggestions.  I'm fearful that the comm ports on the backplane may be toast.

Finally got a few more rs232 boards to try on this machine.  Still no luck, but finally noticed that I have no 5V Comm or 12V Comm LED indicators on the backplane.  Power supply?  Connector issue?  Short maybe?

PDU wasn't putting out 5v/12v

Replaced and all is well.
