So I have a really odd G23 problem that's on a friends machine. The machine was working fine, he put in $100, played a little then suddenly the machine locked up. He turned it off/on and it wouldn't get past the AVP boot up screen with "No IGT signature is found" on the screen. The machine would keep rebooting, same message over and over.
After calling me, I had him look at the ribbon cables and any other cable in the machine (while turned off) He found the lower door switch had a loose terminal, pressed it on further and turned on the machine... then he got a green screen that stated "Call attendant" Open main door for more information.
He either opened/closed the door, turned the key or did both, not sure... but that led to a red screen with a "non-recoverable error" "DriversSenetCoinAcceptor::cannot init safe storage data." with instruction to turn key to clear... he did that and it led to a "configuration verification required (not pictured) and on opening/closing the door finally got to the screen that says no game enabled.
Anybody have any clue as to what the heck may have caused this. I find it odd that the lower door switch would do something like this...perhaps odd coincidence?
I have no problem getting his games turned on for him as I have an ekey7 and diagnostic key. The fact that he's a 2hr drive for me and that he has 0 clue hot to use the menu even if he had an ekey has me wanting to fix this on a more permanent basis.
Ideas, I've never seen a sequence of events like this before
Thanks!
