Game compatibility.
« on: December 15, 2021, 06:46:39 PM »
I'd like to preface this post by saying this is an outstanding community from what I have seen in my short time here.  I've been a part of tons of forums over the last 20+ years of my internet usage and it's rare for a group of people to be as helpful as what I have seen here.

Forgive my newbie questions and so far I have been overwhelmed with information.  It's slowly starting to make sense.

I have an IGT AVP G20 and from what I understand it's compatible with Family 014 games.  So far I've had little issue adding / removing games however there's a couple games I really miss and am not sure if they'll even work on here or if there's a way to get them to work on here with my existing library of games.

Leopard spots, Texas Tea and Little green men.  I already have Texas Tea 3x3 but I really want the original one.

From what I understand these are IGT games but I cannot seem to find them.

Are these games going to work on my system?  If so I'll continue my hunt.  If not then I will quit wasting my time.

Better yet, if there's a nice thread that would educate me as to compatibility etc that I could study that would be great!

Thanks again for everyones help!

Those games were originally written for 3802/3902 Gameking/Igame machines.  As far as I know they were never ported as far as the family 14 avp games.  They wrote Texas Tina for the 044 MPU, and Texas 3x3 started there as well.  Some of them may have been available in the early AVP machines running game king emulated software.  Not sure there, but to my knowledge you won't find them for a family 14 AVP.

Gotcha.  So when you say 3802/3902 GK/Igame machines vs Family 14 games.  Are those basically two totally different systems to to speak and I need to stick with "family 14" games?

FYI: There's a member selling an Elvira game cabinet that will run all 3 games you're looking for:

http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=34572.0

I just went the same road when the casino pulled the wifes favorite game from the bartop machine: Fortune Cookie. I run AVP and newer, so FC was "too old" for me to run in my newer cabinets hardware. But you know the saying "Happy Wife, Happy Life", so I purchased an Igame cabinet with a 3902 board. Then upgraded to an 044. 044's will run 3902 games with what's called a "Memory Expansion Board". The Elvira he's selling is ALREADY converted for you with the "newer" 044 platform. And if you don't care for the Elvira game in it, The Elvira Flash Board is worth $200-$250 when sold as a kit. Chop Top glass and game software kits are pretty easy to find for whatever game you're wanting.

I've opened Pandoras Box, now wanting more and more cool fun games for the 3902/044 platform.  :banghead: :banghead:

Hope that helps!

That does help, thank you for the explanation.  Unfortunately that seller doesn't want to ship.  I'll start looking in the FS threads to find one that someone will ship.  Call me crazy but I would also prefer to find one with a CRT monitor vs lcd.  I am ok with repairing CRTs as needed!

Ouch that's a long way from Ohio.  That would be quite pricey.
