reel tilt

Trying to help some one out with an s2000 he said he was getting reel 2 tilt. I told him to check the wiring harness he said every thing seemed to be connected well. So I asked him to swap reels 2 and 3, he said it changed to reel 3 tilt. At this point i figure it's either the reel or the board so I asked him to send me the reel. It worked fine so I asked him to send me the board, it also seems fine. I am starting to think maybe he sent me the wrong reel. Is there any thing else that might cause a reel tilt in different reel positions like this? They are back lit if it maters.

If the problem follows the reel and not the reel position then I would look it over thoroughly for anything that might be rubbing and keeping it from spinning freely like it should. Maybe the wire harness is rubbing or the reel is coming apart/loose or the optics are dirty/bad. Could also be a improperly installed strip or stepper motor going bad

The reel works fine in my machine the only thing I can think is maybe the reel or his MPU just are not getting a good connection. Think I might just send him back different ones and hope for the best.

If it was the MPU or reel harness the problem would stay with the reel position, not follow the reel. Look for bad pins on the reel plug. Then again, reels are cheap and plentiful, replacing it is probably quickest
