Reel strips -- Probably a dumb question but
« on: July 17, 2015, 08:46:34 AM »
How do you sync new strips with the correct position? Do the strips only go on one way? Seems to me that I could put the beginning of the strip anywhere on the reel and in a different place on the next reel. So when the software says there's a pay out cherry on reel one how do I make sure that's what is there.
I have extra reels and would like to put different strips on them so when I do a machine conversion I only have to insert the reels and not mess with the strips.
Goofy question I Know but it's my first time converting a machine. (Wild cherry to 5x pay)

There are tiny bumps on each side of the reel, that's the indicator where the notch in the reel strips fit when installed. Take a look at a reel and pay close attention, you'll see them.

I can post a pic in a bit if you don't see what I'm describing.

Oh, and install your reel strips on the proper reel (1,2,3) by looking at the strip numbers.

There is a notch on the side of each strip and a corresponding bump in the reel that ensures the proper sync.

I think I see it. Have some sizzling 7s reel that I got to practice on. Looks like the strip has a small notch on the edge and the reel has a
protrusion on the side. Reel has many dimples but only one protrusion so I'm guessing that's the mark.

When you pull the old strips off, you can see and feel the "bump"/protrusion. It's not that hard, plus spthe strips are pretty tough, so they don't mind being removed and reinstalled a couple times.
