We must have had 1ghz boxes in some of our video Alphas.  We had upgraded the memory sticks in half a dozen when we did some theme conversions.  Pain in the butt having to remove the cpu board from the housing to get to the memory slots.

The 512 boxes are slow on boot up and 256 even slower.  You have a 512 box.  There is no need in you upgrading to a 1/2 gig box- A 1-gig goes to 2 gig just by adding the proper memory stick.  Yes it would boot in 2-minutes or less but unless you plan on doing other with this machine it would not be worth it for you, Just go thru the wait or use coolwave's method and have another 512 box on stand-by as the mpu runs all the time.  I have been on the a-2 platform so long it gets tougher to remember all the stuff/quirks on a-1 platform. As far as all this credit/money displays the newer stuff does it all-just touch the icon and it goes from credits to money/cash.  There is a newer version of that game you have also.

Staz, just to clarify, you actually have a 300/400Mhz processor with 512Mb memory. For the most part, adding memory (mb) does not greatly increase processing speed. However, upgrading to a 1Ghz processor will. As Rickhunter stated earlier, these Bally engines are often referred to incorrectly by people confusing processing speed with RAM.

BARRY do you have a copy of the  newer version of that game that i can get or no any one who has it? another strange thing i noticed about this version of this game when i did my 1st clear i could of sworn there was pay tables from 86% to 97% to choose from, now that i do clears on it all i see is 92% to 97% how could that happen
