#1: "...in regards to the cmos being cleared is there a good reason for doing that?"
One of the main reasons for performing a data reset (clearing one or more of the CMOS chips) is to restore the machine back to it's factory state from an unrecoverable error.
This is not needed to be done often unless the cmos chip itself becomes corrupted and fails to retain memory or because of other failing components, such as dying batteries.
#2: "does clearing the memory give any benefits to the payouts?"
No...the payouts are based on the odds of reel chip programming.
#3: "Would starting from scratch mean the machine would have to take in allot of money before a big win whereas it could payout big now thinking it has allot in it when it really dosent?"
Machines have an internal accounting program.
All they do is add "events" into a memory chip - such as "Coins In" or "Bills Inserted".
It knows EXACTLY how much it has in it from the moment the CMOS was last cleared.
A slot machine operates by a
random number generator at the precise moment the Spin button is depressed.
It can hit
"a big win" on the 1st spin or on the 10 millionth spin or in two or more spins in a row!
Good luck!
