Question about the reels on a S6000
« on: February 01, 2016, 08:03:31 AM »
Hi I was just wondering when I have the door open or power it up the reels spin around a bit then stop. My question is should all 3 reels line up on the same symbol? I seen a video online where the guys all lined up on double bars. Mine does not do that. Just spins them around a bit and stops them randomly?? Is this normal. Thanks for any input...I am new at these machines

If the machine is cleared (or reset using clear chips) it will line up the same symbols. But when the machine is powered up normally, the reels simply stop at the same spot to reflect the last game played.

I think depending on the machine brand, after a CMOS clear, the reels will line up in order or sometimes at the "seam" where the reels are inserted. That's also the spot where there's a number printed on the reel strip that indicates the game type.
But when the machine is in use, the reels will "remember" where they were last time as that information is saved in the memory of the MPU (computer) of the machine.

Cool thanks for the info....in regards to the cmos being cleared is there a good reason for doing that? Im wondering where this is a new to me machine does clearing the memory give any benefits to the payouts? Would starting from scratch mean the machine would have to take in allot of money before a big win whereas it could payout big now thinking it has allot in it when it really dosent?

#1: "...in regards to the cmos being cleared is there a good reason for doing that?"
One of the main reasons for performing a data reset (clearing one or more of the CMOS chips) is to restore the machine back to it's factory state from an unrecoverable error.
This is not needed to be done often unless the cmos chip itself becomes corrupted and fails to retain memory or because of other failing components, such as dying batteries.

#2: "does clearing the memory give any benefits to the payouts?"
No...the payouts are based on the odds of reel chip programming.

#3: "Would starting from scratch mean the machine would have to take in allot of money before a big win whereas it could payout big now thinking it has allot in it when it really dosent?"
Machines have an internal accounting program.
All they do is add "events" into a memory chip - such as "Coins In" or "Bills Inserted".
It knows EXACTLY how much it has in it from the moment the CMOS was last cleared.
A slot machine operates by a random number generator at the precise moment the Spin button is depressed.
It can hit "a big win" on the 1st spin or on the 10 millionth spin or in two or more spins in a row!

Good luck!  :cool_thumb_up:

Ok, great info...I thought the wins were based somewhat off what the machine takes in for money....my mistake I am learning a little more at a time lol. Thanks
