WMS BB2 OLED display panels (2.5) are available!

I found a Taiwanese source for these OLED's that go in the WMS button decks.
Came in the mail in about two weeks delivery to my door up here in the Northeast USA!
These are pretty awesome!
Brand spanking new and bright! Night and day results!
Good-bye dimmed out buttons!  :cool_thumb_up:

Below you can see I changed the "Service" & "Collect" displays with white over black
and then I changed the top line 1st "2 Lines" display button with yellow over black next to the "Service" button..
Look at how dim the other three displays are!?!?!?

You think someone threw these on my lap?  :rotfl:
I dug around and searched for them!

I'm making a deal to get some imported from the other side of the pond....production is slated for April.
Prices are somewhat unknown at this time depending on quantity and shipping costs....

Be patient or go pay $50-$60 a piece for them on ebay if you want...it takes time to make international deals like this.

All I know is that they work awesome in mine.

These have the 30-pin ribbon cables already but it's cheaper to buy these WITHOUT the surrounding black plastic frame.
The frame is stuck to the back of OLED display with some double-sided tape.
All I do is pop out the existing frame from the old, junky OLED display and stick it onto the new OLED, snap in the ribbon cable, and install into the button frame and back onto the circuit board.
The button frame has tabs that goes thru the circuit board which get twisted with a needle nosed pliers to hold onto the board.
Pop the button unit back on the button circuit board and throw in the screws that hold the buttons to the deck.
After that, the deck just slides back into the door frame and you push back in the power, data harnesses, re-install the two hole panels of glass and player tracking reader...piece of cake.

My first order will be the yellow OLED graphics like everybody has....however, I really like the white OLEDs - they are much sharper looking in appearance.

Yes, mine were darkened or faded as well.
That's why I started searching around to find new ones but I wasn't going to pay 50 bucks a pop for these displays.
I'm waiting to see what the lady in Taiwan says...
I'd like get about a 100pcs. of them.
Apparently she only answers like 4am...she's on the other side of the planet.

Takes time to arrange something like this straight from the factory.
I'll update soon as they come in.
I will NOT be selling them on ebay.
These will only be available to contributing NLG members.

Laneman,
The ribbon just slides into the connector very easily.
Once you get it in lined up, you simply push down on the latch above it and the latch locks the cable.
I'll make a video when I get back to work...uh...because of COVID-19, it'll be a while I'm afraid.

What you are describing is the older 2.5 deck, the 3.0 splash deck is more difficult since the button doesn’t just pull out of the pc board.

Mine are the 30-pin ribbon cables - the OLED display is not embedded to the circuit board.
I would have to see some drawings of the 3.0 to see what is possible.

Yes, the sockets are soldered onto the circuit board on mine as well, but the ribbon cable from the OLED display panel simply slips into the socket and locks in the pins with a plastic locking bar on the back end.

It’s the same on the splash deck but you have to insert the end of the ribbon thru the button assembly and secure it. It’s a little awkward to do. Not as easy as on a 2.5. I think the Oleds are the same for both decks. You mention white Oleds which are used on Blade splash decks. So maybe they are all the same.

I checked my IGT oleds to see if this might be an option, but alas, the ribbon cable is soldered and glued to the pcb!   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
