WBA 12 or 13 and update or flash

I need a little help. I have two IGT S2000 machines. Both say WBA 12 on the bill validators. I think mine are flashed. If they are flashed is there anyone that flashes them or is it cheaper to just replace the complete units with known working ones? Both machines are not setup for the bill validators to work. They both work on quarters great. Can I turn the bill validators on without having to have a clear and set chip? That way I can kinda test them to see if they work at all before I decide what to do. I would like to get them to work with 1 5 20 Bill's at least. Thanks

Those are 12s, they get flashed, 13s have an eprom on the bottom.  You will need to key machine to enable BV if it is not already enabled.

Is there a way to tell if bill validator is enabled without a key chip? It does not make any noice at boot up so it is either not enabled or something else is wrong. Thanks

Go to 3.3.1 to enable. 

4.0 BV test run netplex autoconfig 4.3 will show if enabled. Don't have to key.

sixcardmark, what do I have to do to get into that stuff? Also I found another validator that i guess is a WBA 13 since it has the socketed chip on the underside. Does anyone know where i can find the latest version of the file to write to the chip? So that it will take the newer Bill's.  I will have to send the other ones off once I make sure they do at least operate. Thanks
