Slowly going mad
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:40:46 PM »
I have searched the forums but haven't found my answer. Maybe I'm using the wrong words.
Here is my problem: I have a 044 Slot Machine with analog counting doodads. They are driving me wonkers!  :banghead:
Is there a way to remove them without having the slot machine go in a panic looking for them?

I just can't stand the clickety going on for hours it seems each time I either insert credits or win credits. ARRRGGG!!! :fryingpan:

Remove the 10wire harness that's connected to the hard meters. Then jumper (or cut and twist together) J9 and J10. No more clickety click. The pic shows the connector. I just cut and twisted those last 2 wires together, but the do make an actual jumper for it.

It is the Black/orange pin10 and Brown/grey wires pin9

Hope this helps.  :cool_thumb_up:

Just for clarification it's pins 9 and 10 of P110 that need to be jumpered together.  You can cut and twist them together like Harvs said, it's quick and easy.  If you prefer not to make a permanent mod by cutting the wires you can make a jumper out of a wire or paperclip and loop it between the two pins at the end of the connector. If you want to get really fancy you can try to find the optional IGT factory made jumper for it.   However you choose to do it you won't have to listen to those annoying meters anymore.

Here's a drawing of of the connector and wires that need to be jumpered.

Awesome! Music to my ears....the silence that is. Just took out the plug and made a short using a metallic twist tie. I don't care how it looks as long as it works. Besides, the door is closed anyways so who cares?

Thanks guys. Truly appreciated the help. Gotta go play my machine without having to wear my straight jacket....

I'm a bit late to this topic but for anyone interested, I have disabled the mechanical meters on all my Game King / I-game machines by cutting the bright solid orange wire leading to the meters. No jumper needed (I use a couple of grey wire-nuts) and have never had a tilt with this method for either 3902 or 044.

That works too, it removes the +25VDC supply to the meters.  You have to leave the connector on the meters or you will lose the loop between pins 9 and 10 which will give you the meters disconnected error.

I found it easier to just put a jumper in the pins 9 and 10. Then if I ever get rid of the machine, I just have to remove the jumper and replug the meters and drive other people crazy.... :)
