About printing vouchers
« on: August 02, 2015, 07:36:03 AM »
Hi folks. Once again, I'm looking for your expertise on my 044 machine.
When I bought it, the previous owner had disabled the printer (either cut out wires and software deleted in the options I think) and I would like to make it work again.
I know when I press the feed out button on the printer, it lets vouchers come out no problem. This is what I want to know.
How do I program the printer to print voucher tickets that would say the name of my game room (Nostalgic Bar) and that the voucher has no cash value?

Also, if I put in a voucher, can I reuse it many times over? For example, if I were to print one with 50000 credits, and put it in the machine once, would I be able to reuse it? That would let me use credits none stop.

Thanks for all your help.  :thank_you: Really like this website. Very informative and useful. :applause:

Well for starters you'll have to do a ram clear on the machine to enable the printer again unless somehow the printer limit was set to 0 or 1 credit.  I can't remember exactly where you enter the data for the tickets but it's somewhere in the diagnostic menu.  Just push that white test button on the front of the board and make your way through the menus until you find it.  The machine will never be able to take the ticket back in though unless you install some kind of tito system for it.  There are some for sale on the classified section of the forums.

I'll have to look out for that menu then. And yes I do have a TITO on my machine. So that means I can reuse any vouchers then?

Dumb question: When I was in Vegas last month, I won little amounts that were less than 40 cents so I didn't bother cashing them in. Would they work on my machine? I haven't tried it for lack of time.

On your S2000 machine you would need to key chip it an access the 2 key chip menu's on the machine.  You can view these by pressing the white test switch on the front of the board and scrolling to the menu's.  You'd have to key chip the machine in order to change the values.  Once you have the printer enabled you can access in the regular setup menu's options menu and you can set up location data.  (Name of your Bar)  This is normally set by a back end TITO system and not necessary on the machine directly.

The only way your machine will accept vouchers is if it is connected to some sort of a TITO system.  Once the machine accepts the voucher the voucher is voided in the system and therefore no longer useable.  There will be no way to reuse the same ticket multiple times unless you can clear out the database.  Also without the TITO system you can only get the machine to accept cash and print out a voucher.  There is no way for that voucher to be accepted by the machine.

There are some circumstances however, you can get a machine that printed a ticket to reaccept that ticket since that ticket info is stored within that machine.  I believe this is only an offline condition though.  The machine is connected to a TITO system but fell offline so the In-Machine Controller is handling the self tickets.

How do you clear the voucher database? By resetting the whole machine back to zero with the key chip?
Also, I don't have the s2000 but the 044 game plus thingy.

On home TITO systems there is no need to clear the datadase. Tickets can be reused till the thermal printing fades to the point that the validator just can't read it anymore and as a side benefit the home TITO systems are packed with user admin control options that can be run from a computer, tablet, c3llphone, whatever...
This ain't your casino's backend system

That's good to know.  I don't deal with home systems only casinos.  I would figure there would be an option for that however, just depends on the system

Open the cabinet door and press the little white button on your MPU. When the menu screen comes up select "machine options", then "peripheral devices setup". A screen will appear that shows your bill validator settings and thermal printer settings. If the box to left of the printer option says "disabled" rather than "enabled" then your printer is disabled in the software. The button will be grey with green letters. The grayed out box means you must keychip your machine to enable the printer. The wording on the ticket can be changed in this screen as well, using the "site ID setup" button, there will be three separate lines of text you can enter that will show on your tickets, where you can state NO CASH VALUE or your game room name, etc.

Home TITO systems use generic serial numbers on the tickets that are read pretty much as a numerical cash value only, versus casino server tickets that use long credit-card type serial numbers that are one-time redeemable only. So, your unused casino vouchers are useless at home due to the complexity of the system from which they came, while home use based TITO is generic and can used over and over until the ticket literally wears out (as already stated).
