S2000 printer bezel flashing. Help
« on: August 16, 2015, 12:05:14 AM »
there was a topic on this but I can't find it.  I have an S2000 that I switched the printer from a gen II printer that was mounted in top box and mounted a gen I in a short reel side glass.  The printer works fine.  Prints fine.  Only issue is that the printer bezel or duck bill green plastic continues to flash.  It's a slow flash.  When the machine is powered off then back on the bezel is steady on as it should be.  When I print the first ticket it flashes as it should when printing but then resumes printing at the slow rate.  A previous post mentioned changing the rear printer PCB and that fixed it.  I have installed 2 separate printers and the same issue.  Anyone have a solution to this problem? :banghead:

Thanks

John

Is the paper low?  If the printer detects that it is running out of paper, the bezel will flash slowly.  You can put a piece of tape over the sensor to fool it into thinking that the paper is full if you want to disable that feature.

The sensors are blocked with the old tape trick.  Here is the funny thing.  I swapped printers from one of my other machines that didn't blink and as I suspected the bezel still flashed after the first print after power up.  What was very interesting is that once I put the my working non blinking printer back in my no issue machine that printer then started to blink after first print.  So now both of my machines have blinking printer bezels.  Its like a virus.  http://newlifegames.com/nlg/Smileys/default/banghead.gif

Have you tried forcing a netplex configuration in menu 4?

I haven't.  I have let them self recognize.  They do work other than that annoying flashing feature.  I will try this and post the results.
