Hi can anyone help me with this message that appears while im trying to ram clear an IGT I game. 'A system error occurred. The operation in progress may not have successfully completed. Power down, power up'

If you have access to another machine, can you clear and key the cpu on another cabinet?  If you can, there is probably something wrong with the EEPROM on the backplane.

Which MPU board version do you have? 3802, 3902 or 044? The chip used depends and varies with the board version

Its a 3902 board. The problems not the ram clear chip

I used the 22 today on 2 other machines and it worked fine. Im sure the problem is the Eeprom on the backplane board.

I don't have an IGT machine using 3902, all of mine are 044's.  In my case it is u14, but it would be the only removable 8 pin dip chip on the backplane.  Sometimes it is soldered on the board, but most of the time the chip is on a socket.

Yes, it's U2 (24C16) on the 3902 backplane.
