version chip/ reel chip

I have a S plus Fourth of July game that I am putting in my S2000 machine, I  removed  the SB100896  ship and replaced it with the SP1048 chip,  I then removed the version chip and replaced it with the S plus real chip. I then put the MPU board back in the machine and turned it on. all I got was a red amber light what am I doing wrong. can someone please help me.  are some photos of the S2000 board and S plus chips. thank you for your help.

you need a SB1000 chip to put in place of the SB chip.  the SS chip goes in the socket in front of the version chip, the version chip goes where it was.  the SP chip is not used. the ss chip is smaller than the chip socket, it is placed all the way toward the version chip, the front two pins will be empty.
