RG Board Question

Hello fellow NLG'ers... I was searching the site for info on this, but came up short. So I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction.


A particular KIT that I have located comes with an RG board for the "Free Games" bonus (. Where does this board get installed? I can't seem to find any info or guides on this subject. Or, it may be quite possible that I am simply looking in the wrong place(s)  :Scratch-Head: .

Never heard of an RG board before, unlike a standard R board I aasume, will be interesting to see the answer on this. What game theme is this for?

It's basically the same as an R board. One uses a specific base chip for the game (R board I think). The other will use an SB001000. It installs on a 1270 enhanced MPU just like the Legacy board. It will use an RBK clear/key chip. Probably RBK00001. I know there is an RBK00002 also but not sure what the difference is. R boards & RG boards are game specific but some similar or clone games will use the same board.

So since I'm fairly new with the internals and allot of what you just stated is completely foreign to me, I basically need to be running an Enhanced MPU to be able to install this game. Correct?

Is it possible to upgrade the board or is that a massive undertaking? Again, while I've played them for years, this is my first opportunity to get my hands inside one. Still learning.

That is correct, you will need to run a 1270 enhanced board set in your game. Upgrading is simple, just requires a 1270 MPU/motherboard be installed. Pretty simple stuff

I have one more question that you may be able to answer for me as well....


Do credits HAVE to be cleared from the machine when using either a KEY/CLEAR chip, or can it be KEY'ed without clearing?

Sorry I missed this comment earlier. The game was for Triple Double Diamond w/ Bonus Free Spins, I would assume similar to Super Times Pay bonus. The board that was included was identified as an RG00054.
