Replacement touchpad install
« on: February 28, 2016, 07:15:34 AM »
Hi gang.
I got a new multi-denom touchpad and need to know if there is ANYTHING I need to be VERY careful about when replacing it.  I am also replacing the existing 4 way label with a new one.  I'm not sure how these items are attached to one another (self-sticK, glue, or ???) and do I need to use any special adhesive remover ( if at all) to get the old glue(?) stuff off.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Doc.

The pad is not glued to anything, just a wire that connects it to the rest of the display panel and then touch panel then just sits there held in place by the little matching pegs of the denom display window.  The sticker is just held on by sticky glue, just peel it off carefully so as not to damage the older one.

You can use a hair dryer to help you remove the old stickers.
Not too hot though. I do not even glue (or peel) the cover off the new one in case I want to change it in the future. It will stay in place when you install it together without a problem.

This is not the case on my machine. The denom sticker has adhesive on both sides. Once applied to the reel glass, then you can remove the back strip and gently place the touch pad to the back of the sticker. The light box then plugs into the back of the touch-pad. Take extra precaution to assure that the separation panels in the light box are held or they will fall out. Can be a bit concerning if one should fall down into the door, etc.

Simple cleaning of the glass with cleaner and making sure that it is completely dry prior to application is standard. Providing you have the touch-pad and light box in alignment, you should be good to go.
