Hi Jason and Welcome to NLG !

I'm not familiar with your Bally machine but here is one of the manuals, it has some troubleshooting info starting on page 2-25. Might give it a read and see if you can try any of its suggested ideas. Hopefully some of the Bally experts here on NLG will check in and give some advice.

The usual things to check are to make sure all the fuses are good and the power supply voltages are good. Check for loose connectors and for burned/over-heated contacts on the connectors, particularly connectors that carry power from the power supply to the mpu (main processor board) and to the motherboard (backplane board). Look on the mpu board for the battery, check to see if it has leaked onto the board, that can cause erratic or no operation.

When you say you pulled out the main board (mpu board??) and powered the machine up and saw no codes on the display - if that is the mpu (processor) board you removed than I'm not surprised the display is blank, it is probably controlled by the mpu board and without it in the machine the display won't do anything. But that's just a guess on my part.

Photos are always helpful, showing the outside front of the machine and the insides, sometimes they will trigger an idea for someone to suggest what to check or someone will see something amiss that you didn't notice. Anything you aren't sure of just take a photo and post it. It is easy to attach photos to any comment posting, just look below the comment box when you are entering a comment for the link in green print saying "Attachments and other options". Click on it and the attachment widget will appear.

Also, we aren't there with you and the machine, so we don't know what you know. Tell us about the machine's history, was it working at one time then failed, or did you get it and it was already broken? Any and all info will help us to better zero in on what might be going on.

A bit more technical.

Check your battery voltage and make sure it reads over 3 volts DC.

Also check your power supply for the proper DC voltages.

With power and everything connected measure the DC voltages, reference to the power supply's ground pin.

If they are low you may need to check the sticky on how to fix the power supply.

Attached is a list of voltages you should be reading, ignore the part about jumping the AC input as you will have the power supply connected to the machine AC input.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

I don't know about the red light being lit, odd that it isn't labeled, might just be a power-on indicator, maybe someone here can say.

I think this is a manual for your machine, might have some info about it.

Red LED is constant reset. If so the board will not work until that problem is fixed.

You may want to send the board to Larry so we can check it on our tester.

Good Evening Everyone,

I tested the battery and it was dead so i replaced it, New battery test good. I put the Board back in still Nothing on the display And Noise coming from the speaker. I couldn't figure out how to test the power supply. Nothing looks burnt or smells bad. OK so i have a Bally S5500 Diamond Line similar to the blazing 7's that works fine plays great. I Pulled The MPU Out if it And put This MPU Out of the blazing 7's in To See If Id Get Anything Different. The LED Reset Light was off but still no codes on the Display It wasn't making noise out the speaker in this machine..

Anyone in the Indianapolis,In Area know anything about these machines?? I'd be glad to pay someone to come fix this ..

Thanks
Jason

If you put a 5500 into another machine it needs to be cleared again.

If you replace the battery you have to clear the board then wait for the reel bumps before closing the door or the reset doesn't take.

If your power supply is low nothing will work.

You put the Diamond Line board in the Blazing Sevens chassis and it worked?
