Ms little green man won't boot/dead

Hi there
I am from the netherlands,



I have a problem with a ms little green man i bought it broken for a few euro's


what i know now:


the lcd boots fine when the stepperboard is removed


but on the stepperboard i get only a solid green led
change the battery also 


i have read out the eproms stepper gme1 en gme2 and i think the are fine
but on the version chip there is no rom file is empty ??
can it be that that's the problem for not booting


the powersupply's  are working and giving the right voltages




i hope some one can help me

Barry, you've got to have a version chip. VS009GX0 will work best for your vision machine. These are widely available online. I'm sending you a PM.

I bought a other stepperboard on eBay
No more leds then one solid green led
So when i get the other board i hope it will work

I got the other board
Place the roms on it and nothing, there are 4 yellow leds and one green
Nothing on Vfd display
Messuring 12v and 13v but i dont know the right voltages because i have no servicemanual
Placed a new battery 3v on the board


The screen of the Lcd is also dark en when the power is on, a dark spot will rice on it
With no stepperboard in the holder,  the Lcd is booting, and says ......please wait initializing






Maybe the roms are damaged on the stepperboard ?
What else can i messure or check on the board

It may sound basic but ensure that all the chips are installed in the correct orientation and have no bent legs. Check all of the pins that connect to the backplane (motherboard) to ensure none are bent. Try pressing in on the MPU while booting. I had one that wasn't seating well and had issues. Try to post a pic of your board and chips or at least list all of the chip numbers. Need more info.

Yes, post pictures of your chips that we can read. Got a feeling a bad chip or bad combination. Glad your monitor is booting good.

I absolutely just tried that chip combination on my Double Diamond Deluxe Bonus Wheel. I was trying to see if I could get the multimedia lite board to play sounds with vision. It would NOT work. Endlees loop, which is different from your issue. Nevertheless, you are going to have issues with that chip combo even if you have no other issues (in my personal experience). SG000248's and VS009GX0 will work in all vision games. If someone knows better, please chime in.

I know the 380s will not work in DD bonus wheel but that does not help your issue

Its my first Igt slot machine so i don't know much about it

As qbert and I mentioned. The chips don't necessarily relate to the issue you are describing. I only mentioned them because I have not had any luck with them on my vision machines. Maybe I confused things by jumping ahead. Did you check all the basics that I mentioned earlier? Bent legs, pins, loose connections on the backplane, chip orientation, etc?


Anyone else have any suggestions?

All of my chips are exactly as yours. Assuming you have a 5 reel and BGM172 on data card. If 3 reel it will be different

I have the Bgm00172 and a datacard with Igt on it


I am a little bit further
Now 1 green led and 4 yellow, then the top 2 yellow leds goes out
Lcd comes on and then nothing
It stucks on .....please wait initializing


In boot screen i see 2 cards and memory oké

The LCD is not stuck. It is waiting for a command from the MPU. Do you still have nothing on the VFD?

where are you measuring the voltage. most of the s2000 runs off 13v and 25v. some of the boards do have localized voltage regulators on them so you may be reading one of those for the 12v.

And 12v and 5v on the board
But my display board Vfd has broken so i can not read any errors on the display
And i see on YouTube, that a lot of errors can come up and has to reset.... and after that the reels are spinning and the game should be starting( i hope )
So a lot to learn about this booting proces

So with the VFD not working, it could be saying closure M or other message from varta leakage. May be a bad board too. When you say "GARBAGE" are you meaning all the dots and dashes? If yes, it is usually from having a card in the side slot and a NJ version chip. Have you put a jumper on JP1 in the monitor? That will show you everything the monitor is doing.
