Good video.  If you don't find a resolution here, I'd try posting in the bill validator sub-forum, too.  While your problem is in an S+ machine, in my opinion the bill validator itself is your issue, and not anything specific to the S+.

With the 145 you have to have Bill FACE UP and TOP OF HEAD TO THE RIGHT. In your Video you inserted Bill TOP OF HEAD TO THE LEFT... No way this will work. If you haven't yet you need to Clean the Belts on the Transport as well. If I was going to keep that machine (and I personally would as it will be very reliable once issue is corrected) I would put a WBA 12/13 in there. You can do fairly easy if you can find the Power Supply, the rest of the parts are now cheap, and will be much better plus will accept newer Bills

Did you see what was said earlier in reply #12 and again in reply #21 about how the bill must be inserted with the correct orientation (face up and top of the portrait's head to the right)? It's good to acknowledge something that we mention so we know if you got it or not.

(my computer is having problems displaying the videos, so I don't know if you are aware of this)

It's very unlikely that a DBV-145 will take most of the newer-design bills that we have in circulation now. As mentioned earlier you might get it to take an older $50 that is still out there. But for most of the other bills (except $1) it won't work.

I did this on purpose to make sure the bill came back to me, wanted to see if any bills would get stuck on its way back out.

I see, so you are "exercising" the DBV and getting it to run forward and backward?

Does it consistently accept $1 bills?

Yes, it is now taking any $1 bill that is in decent condition. I did have a wrinkly but decent bill that it said no to on video but after two more tries it went through. Cleaning the belts and rollers was the trick so thanx for that and all the info too.

I think '01 is newest 20 it will take if it is updated as far as it will go.
