Differences in Game King 2142 software
« on: January 03, 2019, 09:12:39 AM »
Hi everyone. I have two sets of IGT G0002142 software.

One says "Do Not Copy" and has a bold letter L on the right side of the GME stickers.
The other does NOT say do not copy and has a bold letter R.

Are these sets different? Could they be related to the "Double Up" bug?

Same chips. Not positive but I think it means Reno or Las Vegas. IGT has locations in both.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Thanks for the info. I also have a 2142 set that doesn't have either letter. Curious.

I noticed that some GME chips for other I-Game software have labels that say NV, MO, CRUS—I assume that means Nevada, Missouri, cruise ships…

That's correct. Some jurisdictional thing required by gaming commissions. Still same chips.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Interestingly, I swapped one set of 2142 chips for another, and I thought I'd need to do an EEPROM clear, but it kept the credits and accounting.

That's because the two chips contain the exact same information.  If they were different you would have had some errors.
