New Owner....New User....Many thanks already!
« on: April 21, 2019, 06:21:21 AM »
Hi Everyone. I am the new owner of an IGT S+ machine that I picked up from an Estate Auction. I have stolen so much useful information from your site in the past few days I felt obligated to join up and say thank you. This site has helped me repair the error code 12 on my machine. I am now in the error 61 loop and awaiting my clear chip to hopefully get this machine going. I was able to make it to the 61-1 a few times but it always reverts to an error 61 after. I have replaced 2 of the 3 flourescent lights and she looks beautiful now sitting there waiting on her clear chip. :) Thank again for all of the useful information provided by this site. I will be making a donation to this great site.

P.S Can anyone identify this double diamond game? Can an IGT S+ be converted to this game type with scatter play? I love the sound and game play on this machine.

Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

I am hoping you ordered a set chip also. After clear you have to set denom. and turn BV on. The best you can hope for is adding the Haywire feature to your D.D. Welcome to NLG

I ordered a Clear Chip, a BV set chip, and a SP731 . I am hoping these are the correct chips for my machine. I assume I can use the current chip that is in the machine instead of the SP731 after the reset?

I used the S+ Bible link and verified I there is a 3633 Reel chip (87.5%) payout chip in the machine currently.

I am still trying to identify the Game Chip that is currently in the machine. The only label on it was a torn orange sticker. No numbers.

That's an IGT S AVP machine with "27 Ways to Win Double Diamondâ„¢".  The machine is two generations newer than your S+.  Your S+ cannot be converted to this game, nor is it capable of the more advanced sounds of that machine.

I assumed as much but it doesn't hurt to ask :) The reel action and sounds are fun on that one. Maybe in 15 years when all of the machines are virtual reality I can add an AVP machine. Thank you for the identification.

I wanted to update you guys on my progress. I received my set of chips today. It arrived early. I used the clear chip and then re inserted the original chip back. Everything is working great now. The quarter hopper is paying out the right amount on wins etc. I still need to use the SET chip to activate the BV, and wade through many of the game options to get those set. Now that it runs properly I should be able to verify what game chip type is in the machine currently. I may switch it out later if the new SP731 provides additional options. I will need to read up on that.

 :thank_you:

Rons R273 simplified option sheet in the download area will be of big help to set all of the options.

On the home page (bottom right) is RICKS FAQ and one of the Faqs is how to display the Game and Reel chip numbers in the winner paid window (no chip stickers needed).

Have fun and keep posting your updates.

Thank you Jay and RockinElvis. I will be able to put that info to use.

I have a question about the quarter hopper. Right next to the quarter hopper is a smaller side chute that leads to a hole in the bottom of the machine cabinet. I notice a few of the quarters played end up going down that side chute and end up underneath the machine. What is this side chute for? And is there a way to make all of the coins go into the hopper?

That chute is for overflow and in the casino there would have been a basket in the slot stand.
You will notice a metal rod with a wire attached to it on the hopper. When the coins get to a certain level they are detected by the rod and diverted accordingly. I believe there is a on/off for this in the settings.

Alternatively you could remove the rod from the hopper.

Thank you for the quick response Jay. Something must be jammed on the hopper rod. The hopper is only about 1/3 full and it still sends coins to the bottom. I will take a look tomorrow and see if something needs to be lubricated or take the rod out if needed. I will check settings for this as well. Might be better to just turn off this feature if i can find it.

I don't keep my hoppers full at all, and occasionally coins randomly get diverted to the drop on pretty much every one of my S+ machines.  If it's only a few coins, I'd consider it normal.  If it's happening all the time, then there's an issue with the probe wiring, or the diverter that sends coins to the drop instead of the hopper.

When you turn the machine on the first set of coins get diverted. I keep a baggie in the chute to keep them from falling all the way down.
