Wms upper power supply issue

I know they are getting harder and harder to come by, looking for a known working upper power supply for a piggy bankin.  Or someone that might be willing to build the molex harness from an supplemental PC power supply. I already have one installed to help with the lower supply.   I have read these forums thoroughly about it but am not comfortable doing it myself.  I have 2 set of spare wires coming from the supply after connecting to the lower, not sure if it would be enough to power the upper also.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the power rating of your PC supply, it should be enough to supply the entire machine, both upper and lower.   I have done it on a few of my machines when finding a replacement power supply has been tough.  It is really easy to do, especially if you have it already installed running the lower.  Here is the link for directions on running both upper and lower off the same supply:

And if you do not want to make the custom molex connector and have no intention of going back to stock, an option (but not really reversible) is to cut the large connector off the upper harness and put all red together, and all black together.  Then wire up a 2 prong connector.  On the Green/white/black harness coming up from the bottom, make sure red goes to green, and black goes to black.  The white is not used.  Make sure that on the other end where it plugs into your PC power supply, you are also red to green, and black to black.  As long as long as you have the red from your PS to the reds from the upper, and the black from your PS to the blacks from the upper, it will all work.

By far the best post I've seen showing how to do it.  Thank you.  Just very hesitant due to my lack of knowledge about electronics.   One wrong thing and I would be in even worse shape. 


I was lucky enough yesterday to speak to one of the members here who was willing to part with a new upper out of his stash.  So I now longer will require this.  It may not be as reliable or cost effective, at least I have the peace of mind knowing I won't accidentally fry something even harder to come by.  Thanks again for your help.
