Toggle switch on the Brain Box purpose
« on: August 31, 2020, 11:19:09 AM »
Trying to learn my way around my new AVP little by little. Would someone kindly explain the purpose and operation of the toggle switch on the brain box?

 :thank_you:

It is a write protect switch for nvram and cabinet memory.

Thanks Rick... Which position should it be in normally and how is it used for game installation?

I have always had issues with this switch in anything other than the up position.  This is the position where you can install games, clear nvram, etc.  For whatever reason, when I put the switch in the down position, I get an error about a jumper not installed and can't seem to clear it, so I just keep it in the up position all the time.  For home use it is really not all that important.  It is a compliance issue, as this switch always has jurisdictional tamper evident tape on top of it to verify that the operator has not made any changes to the machine since it was installed.
