Ticket Printer Light Problem

So I didn't even realize that my ticket printer had a light (the green arrow) until I noticed that it flickers a bit (on rare occasion).  I guess it is supposed to be flashing all the time?  Anyone know of a cause/fix for this (preferably one that doesn't involve replacing the entire unit)?

Actually, when is the ticket printer light supposed to light up?  On some Game King videos it appears to be flashing all the time when there are credits in the machine, in others I never see it lit up at all?

If the indicator on solid it indicates the printer is idle and ready.  If it is blinking slowing it indicates the paper is low or there is an error.  If it is blinking fast a ticket is printing or in the chute.

Ok, so it should on at all times, flashing or solid.  I'm guessing mine has a short where the light panel plugs into the printer.  The socket feels wobbly and loose.

Correct.  The only time it should be completely off is when there isn't power to the printer.
