S2000 Hopper empty error

I have a new to me s2000.


It played fine, but will not cash out.  States hopper empty.  Token payment is enabled.


When hopper is inserted, the green led light on the hopper board flashes for a moment, then nothing.


Is there a way to test board and/or motor?

Hopper input/output tests are in operator menus 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. Open the door & press test button to access the menu.

When I’ve done my hopper tests the machine will dispense 10 coins. Also there is a place to see if the hopper sensors are seeing the coins. It will tell you if the hopper is empty, low, or full I believe.

None of the self-tests did anything.  I ordered a new hopper board, hopefully that makes it work.

It could also be the motor.   This happened to me.  Board was fine, sensor was fine. Motor was DOA.

I replaced the hopper board, still showing empty hopper.


New motor coming today.   Should that fail, what other issues could cause the hopper empty error?

There's only really 3 parts on that hopper that could cause hopper errors. The only thing left is the output sensor. (Not sure if that's what it's really called) It counts the coins as they roll out of the hopper. You could go back to the test and and physically roll one through the sensor by hand and see if the machine recognises it. If you time it just right when you tell it to dispense 10 coins, it should count 1 coin. If you're too slow passing it through the sensor it should say give an error of some kind saying it dispensed extra coin or something along those lines.

Turns out it was a bad hopper motor.


Machine works perfectly now.


Double Diamond deluxe-  belly glass is kind of faded.  If anyone has one they want to part with, I may want to replace it.
