S+ power supply Harness

Can anyone replace the flat connector that goes bad. I have like 5 of these I would like to get repaired. Or if someone could tell me where to get the parts to do it myself including sizes of the plug and pins.

To save you the trouble of this happening again cut the plug off and solder the wires on. Slide a piece of shrink tube on the wire before soldering. Done this several times, works great.

They are the same size as ones used on PC XT/AT power supplies not the ATX versions

You can find them at Mouser or Newark or if you have a small electronic parts store or dealer near you they can help you find the same ones or a better version in the same size.

The problem is the contact is flat and only makes contact on one side but do to how it is bent into a triangle like shape to create a slight spring pressure on it.
You can release he pin from the contact and clean them and reshape them until you get decent replacements.

Stay away from eBay, those on there are over priced.

I've soldered them before. When on the road doing a repair it is easier to replace the cable. I remember someone having a new connector with contact on 3 sides. But can't find the post.

Thanks Ron. I just ordered some  trifurcon female pins.

I've been repairing these by cutting the 2 green (ground) wires off right above the plug.  Strip the wires, add an wire connector and attach under a screw to the base.  This will complete the ground, I've never had a problem and be doing it this way for years.

Thanks Bob. I got the  trifurcon female pins and replaced the bad one. Now have 5 fixed for the parts bin.
