S+ Type 0 Game to Type 2

Is it possible to turn my 3 coin Double Diamond S+ to a ‘nudge type’ game by simply changing out the SP chip to say a 1274 then changing the SS chip to a the desired type 2 game (in addition to new reel strips, glass, etc)?  Thanks,

Yes, you need a reel chip that supports type 5 (nudges up and down), the SS chip for double diamond deluxe and the reels trips for double diamond deluxe.

You bet - thats the beauty of the S+ you can have any theme you want by simply changing out the components you described.
The common nomenclature for this a "game kit" in case your searching on Ebay or talking to a vendor.

You can go from a 2 coin 1 line to a 5 line 5 coin with a simple change and of course nudge, spin to you win, haywire etc.

If you go to the NLG home page - bottom right there is Ricks Faqs - it will step you through the game change.
You will also find the NLG IGT Game bible that will have all the themes available.

There are also a few hybrid themes not covered such as a triple diamond haywire - it takes a type 0 game that has the same paytable as the haywire theme and gives it special features - the benefit here is that your just changing chips and not glass or strips. One of our members here has made some decals that you can add to the glass / strips that update it to show that its triple diamond haywire.. but thats totally optional.

I don't know what SP chip you have but usually a type 0 chip is also a type 1, 4, 5 and sometimes 14.
Type 2 is Haywire and will not run a nudge game. You should only have to change the reel chip.

Tried looking for a ‘Triple Diamond Haywire’ chip.  Cant find it here.  I have a double Diamond .25 S+.  You say I can leave the 0 game chip in and change the game prom out for some different type action.  What is the number of the chip?  Many thanks to all!  Great site!

There is no TDH S plus software. S2000 only. What SP (game prom) do you have?
The SS (reel prom) contains the paytable and reel stops.

RH probably confused things when he said you need a "reel chip that supports type 5". He should have said game not reel. DD Deluxe is type 1. This started with you wanting to change to DD Dlx now you are at Haywire. You can convert your DD to a DDH using your existing strips by changing to a type 2 game prom and using a Double Jackpot Haywire SS chip.

It’s not an offical game.
It’s haywire chip set but if you look at the triple diamond glass compared to haywire the paytable (on the glass) is the same. So you leave the TD glass, and switch over to the Hw chips. Just something fun to do.

Munsters and pink panther are S2000 games but there are matching parables in the S+ set. You use those chips and then offset the reel strips to match.

None of these hacks are in the game bible.

Jay, I don't know where you get your information but you can NOT turn a Triple Diamond S plus into a Triple Diamond Haywire.
There is no software to support that even if you have TDH reel strips.

Yes sorry, meant to say game prom.  That chip will work with double diamond deluxe.  I think jay confused TDH with TD with mystery reel action.  You can convert a standard Triple Diamond game to have nudge features by just changing the reel chip with one from triple dollars with mystery reel action and a game prom that supports type 23 (SP654 or SP1306)
