S Plus Error 12, 61, 65-1
« on: February 23, 2022, 07:41:21 PM »
I spoke to some one on here and got some great advise but thought I would run this buy the group and see if I got some S Plus experts out there that can help me through a problem.  I got 2 machines a black cherry and Haywire both belong to a neighbor and both had a 12 error code. He asked if I could help get them fixed.

12 Error code I pulled the boards and installed new batteries.

Then I got error 61, pressed the test button and got nothing wouldn't go to 61-1.

I pulled the board, pulled the game chip and put in my S+ clear chip, put the board back in, test button twice, it ran cycle to 999, re installed the game chip and board back in game.

Turned game on and got 61 error, held test button and went to 61-1, closed the door, turned the jackpot key once error went away, blank for a few seconds and then I got a 65-1 error code.  Turned the jackpot key once and then I got the following picture when I was told is the attendant menu?  I tried to key through it until I got the solenoid click but when I got the click was when it read error 61.

Both slots do the exact same thing doing the exact same process.  Both games were working before fine.  Someone had hit the jackpot on both machines and the guy didn't know how to clear it so just left them and the batteries eventually died.

Both machines are quarter machines with hoppers and no bill acceptors.

Get back to the 65-1, but this time,  open the door and hold the little white button for a couple of seconds - it should clear.

Then you can close the door and drop in some coins.

Please read through the FAQ post at the top of the section (the one that says "look here first"). The first two FAQs address error codes and how to resolve them, and not using the clear chip except under very specific circumstances.
