Does anybody have experience with an AVP that has a 2.0 brain box?
I have the equivalent of an AVP GameKing Lexus Slant top which looks just like a Slant top GameKing that has an 044 board in it.
My Machine has the same guts as the AVP Gameking that has the AVP 2.0 Brain box. It has the DC Distribution board with the car fuses,
the Hi Performance Motherboard, the Communication Board Box that has 2x little RS-232 Daughter cards plugged into it and 2x Fiber optic
Daughter cards plugged into it and a ribbon cable that goes from this comm box to the motherboard. It uses an AVP 25pin touchscreen monitor.
The monitor cable has both a 25pin connector and a USB connector. The 25pin connector connects the same way as it does in a
GameKing 19" upright with an 044 board, but adds an additional USB connection that plugs into the Motherboard/Backplane.
The I/O cards, Cabinet and Door I/O look just like the ones in an GameKing / iGame and S2000.
Here is some background. I'm building a rare machine, cabinet wise, but not guts wise as far as hardware and harnesses go. I have no door optics
or cherry switches connected yet as I don't have them and either have to get them and or make them. The Battery on the AVP 2.O Brain Box
motherboard is most likely dead. The Volatile ram boards with the batteries on them are most likely dead too. The Green Varta Battery on the
square I/O board that plugs inside the AVP 2.0 brain box is iffy as the Brain Boxes have been sitting for 10+ years in storage.
So, I'm shooting kind of blind to say the least. All harnesses are connected. The DC Distribution board shows 4 green lights.
The Machine boots, but when I get to the touchscreen window where it says, " Turn Reset Key to Calibrate the Touchscreen.
Hold down the Test switch for 3 seconds to reset the touch screen configuration." I doo these things, but the touchscreen doesn't respond to touch.
Neither pressing the "More," Button on the lower left hand corner of the screen nor the, "Test," button in the lower Right hand corner of the
screen does anything either. The machine shows that the touchscreen is online, but it just does not respond.
I have replaced motherboards/backplane with the same result. I have tried several monitors with the same result. I have even tried replacing the monitor cable
and still have the same result.
Questions I hope someone could answer:
1) Would not having door switches, optics, etc keep the touch screen from operating?
2) Would dead batteries on either the AVP Brainbox motherboard and or non volatile ram sticks keep the touch screen from operating?
Does anybody have the latest AVP Verify image for an AVP 2.0 and the latest Diagnostic disk for the AVP 2.0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
