Bally Alpha Reel Winners topper question

Picked up this machine & got it working properly.

It is too tall for most ceilings, definitely too tall for mine.

How do I (if possible) remove the topper & just mount a candle on the wheel portion.

Other alternative is to fabricate a base that is 12” tall.

I believe the topper is removable. Inside the top box, right at the top inside, there should be a lever which will allow the big wheel door to open so you can gain access. If you are successful in gaining access to the inside wheel housing, you should see the locking nuts that secure the topper. (I've never seen the inside of one of these wheels so I'm just guessing)

You can definitely remove the topper, but you have to take the wheel apart (which I did in order to clean out the casino gunk and cigarette tar smell).  I left the topper on, but remove the candle, so now it just fits within the ceiling height in my game room.

Thanks for the suggestions.  That lever only opens the top rim,  the rest of the wheel has to be disassembled to access bolts for topper.

It did come off though & now clears my inside ceiling by 6” or so.
