Help identifying chips needed and upgrade options
« on: July 25, 2024, 09:08:44 PM »
Hi all. Total noob here working my way through my first machine. I've got a Game King upright with the 17 inch screen. I swapped out the blurry Ceronix 1793 for a LCD replacement and I can finally read the screens! It looks great! Now I'd like to get into the programming. The MPU is a 3902. The game chips in it GME1 and GME2 have the number G0001777 and a date of 8/07/03. The two PXL chips are C0000265 with a date of 5/5/99. The base chip is M0000526

1 - Which chips do I need to find/buy to be able to reset everything and customize the setup?

2 - This is a multi game unit... There are multiple poker and Keno games as well as blackjack and 5 or 6 very basic slots. Can extra games be added? Most interested to know if I can add additional (better) slot games from the IGT library. Little Green Men, Money Storm, Texas Tea... If so can I do that and still retain the card games that are already there?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm just figuring my way through this thing and want to get it set up right.  Thanks!

You have Game King 4.0.  You need Key 17 to key the machine.  Check with member RB here, he can fix you up with it.

You may be able to add additional games to what you have available in your menu selection now, but you can't add any new games that are not part of the software set.

You can change the software out on your MPU and play different games like Texas Tea, but you lose the poker games when you install the Texas Tea software.  You may need a different sound board too to play I-games like Texas Tea.  GK4.0 uses EPROM based sound software, later stuff uses SIMM based software and requires a multimedia lite 2 board (MML2).

Your current software set has the following games available and you can select 12 games per denomination.

Bonus Poker
Deuces Wild Poker
Double Bonus Poker
Jacks or Better Poker
Joker Poker
ACE$ Bonus Poker
Bonus Poker Deluxe
Double Double Bonus Poker
Deuces Wild Bonus Poker
Double Deuce Poker
Loose Deuce Poker
Triple Bonus Poker Plus
ShockWave Poker
Keno
4-Card Keno
Super Keno
Caveman Keno
Triple Diamond Keno
Top-Bottom Keno
3-6-9 Way Keno
2-4-6 Way Keno
Super Way Keno
Black Rhino Slot
Super 8 Line Slot
Diamond Mine Slot
Double Bucks Slot
On The Prowl Slot
Wild Flower Slot
Lion Fish Slot
Super 8 Race Slot
Blackjack

Thank you so much!! I was hoping this machine would be compatible with a 5.x software set, since I think you can at least get Cleopatra in one of those, but if it's going to require switching boards I think that's a headache I'll avoid with my limited knowledge. I'll seek out the 17 chip. That will let me do everything? Reset all bookkeeping and start over? Set my hopper to 0, set up my denominations and games with each denomination?

Again, I appreciate your time!

Your machine is.  You may need a MML2 sound board for it though, they're pretty cheap.  RB may have the MML2 along with the GK 5.0 software if that's what you're interested in.  GK 5.0 software uses Key 22.

Here's the games available on it (M1001 base) most are the same but with slightly different paytables.

Jacks or Better Poker
Jacks or Better Poker Sequential Royal Flush
Bonus Poker
Bonus Poker Sequential Royal Flush
Double Bonus Poker
Double Bonus Poker Sequential Royal Flush
Double Double Bonus Poker
Double Double Bonus Poker Sequential Royal Flush
Joker Poker
Deuces Wild Poker
2-10 Spot Keno
Power Keno
Cleopatra Keno
Multi-Card Keno
Caveman Keno
Cleopatra Slot
Leopard Spots Slot
Super 8 Race Slot
