WBA 11 to WBA 13

I have an S+ with WBA 11. Transport is shot. tried to find another. Plan on selling machine as soon as validator is working. Hope to not have to put much into it.  What do I need to replace to change to WBA 13? Of course the head and transport and harness. Do I have to change anything else?

Nope, changed mine just like that as long as you have the correct software.  S2000 chip with S+ software. Chip matches the b/v and software matches the machine. IDO 22 and 23.

The head is the same, you just need transport with correct software (IDO 22/23) and the harness.

Can you get the 4 way acceptance with the 11 head as opposed to the 13 head?

The heads are all the same in the WBA10/11/12/13.  What is different is the transport.  10/11 2 way accepatance, 12/13 4 way acceptance.  You can take the head from an 11 and put it in a 13 with no issues, other than perhaps calibration, but that is the case anytime you swap heads with another unit, even if alike.

The only difference is the CPU board and Harnessing. The rest of the transport is identical. Heads are interchangeable for all models, WBA 10, 11, 12 and 13.
The 10 and 11 have a 1 Meg program and the 12 and 13 have a 4 Meg program, that is why you only get 2 way acceptance with the 10 and 11.

S2000 uses IDO24 which does not work on an S+.  The S2000 chip does not apply in this case.  If it is a WBA 13, he probably meant you can erase the eprom and reprogram with the right software on it.

Rick is correct. I should have made that a bit more clear.  The wba 13 uses a 4mb chip, and it needs to be programmed with IDO 22/23 software to run the S+ machine. Sorry....
